In patients with a complaint of under-eye bags, filling can be applied to the ring-shaped sinking around the bag to hide the bags. The sinking of the mid cheek area in these patients also causes the under eye to look tired. If the patient's middle cheek is sunken while under-eye light filling is performed, the middle cheek should be raised first and support should be created for under eye. If the application is made under the eyes without correcting the low level of the cheek, the under-eye swelling may appear as a level and may increase the appearance of bags. In patients with a history/tendency to edema, less amount of application should be made than normal due to the water-holding feature of the fillings.
Filling under the eyes is usually made in the form of 1 ml (0.5 ml right-left). In patients with very prominent sinking, 1 ml right and 1 ml left application may be required. If mid-cheek sinking is accompanied, 1-2 ml should be applied to both cheeks, depending on the need. Filling results are seen immediately. The illuminating effect becomes more evident day by day, and the patient is called for control after 2 weeks for the best result.
Applying to the surface is the most common mistake in filling application. In order to be able to apply under the muscle in this area, deep injection of bone milk with a needle and more cannula application should be preferred.
The vascular component should be evaluated well from the beginning and it should be explained that bruising may continue even if the sinking in patients with very prominent veins is corrected. These patients may benefit from vascular laser.
For color darkness, spot laser (Qswitch), NoMor and spot lightening mesotherapy products can also be added to the treatment.
Since this area is adjacent to the eye, laser applications (NdYAG for veins and Qswitch NdYAG for stains) must be done by wearing protective glasses.
The most common faulty application in under-eye light filling is to fill only the inner part of the eye, mainly to the same area and surface. Under-eye light filling keeps the water in this area, swelling occurs and a sausage-like appearance appears. In order to prevent this appearance, the filling should be applied to the deep plan with a cannula and, if necessary, to the outer part of the eye and distributed homogeneously.
When under-eye light filling is performed by experienced doctors, it brings you from tired and dark eyes to more dynamic and bright eyes.
